23P Vitamin D deficiency and SNPs in melatonin pathway genes potentiate breast cancer susceptibility: A pilot study

چکیده

Previous studies have documented that both vitamin D deficiency and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) of genes responsible for mediating downstream effects melatonin with development breast cancer. In India 70 percent the population suffers from Vitamin deficiency. There are no available reports on association SNPs in Melatonin towards cancer Indian population. To this end, we evaluated 50 D-deficient subjects studied gene expression patterns receptor (MTNR1a, MTNR1b) Arylalkylamine N-acetyltransferase (AANAT). Age matched patients without age normal (i.e served as control). demonstrated decreased MTNR1a, MTNR1b, AANAT deficient group compared to level (68% Vs 41%, p<0.001). Two two-staged analysis genome-wide (GWAS) showed MTNR1b progression metastasis group. Interestingly incidence was 32% more when other groups. Our pilot highlight fact products strong correlation its invasiveness. Significant increase related under conditions insufficiency leads us contention additive effect These experiments repeated using large sample size coupled animal knockout mice against background can shed light exact mechanism.

Vitamin D Deficiency and its Relation with Cancer in Children

Vitamin D deficiency is known as the most common nutritional deficiency. It is created during infancy due to different factors, including decreased dietary intake, decreased dermal synthesis, malabsorption, enzyme-inducing medications, and exclusive breastfeeding. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with poor bone health such as rickets and osteomalacia in children. Despite vitamin D plays an im...

Analysis of SNPs and Haplotypes in Vitamin D Pathway Genes and Renal Cancer Risk

In the kidney vitamin D is converted to its active form. Since vitamin D exerts its activity through binding to the nuclear vitamin D receptor (VDR), most genetic studies have primarily focused on variation within this gene. Therefore, analysis of genetic variation in VDR and other vitamin D pathway genes may provide insight into the role of vitamin D in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) etiology. RCC...

Vitamin D deficiency and stroke

Vitamin D comprises a group of fat-soluble pro-hormones, obtained from sun exposure, food, and supplements, and it must undergo two hydroxylation reactions to be activated in the body. Several studies have shown the role of vitamin D in mineral metabolism regulation, especially calcium, phosphorus, and bone metabolism. Some factors such as inadequate vitamin intake and liver or kidney disorders...

Association between Vitamin D deficiency and Breast Cancer

OBJECTIVE To determine the association between vitamin D deficiency and breast cancer. METHODS This case control study included 94 female patients aged 20-75 years of any marital status and parity. Newly diagnosed 42 breast cancer patients who presented to surgical OPD of Dow University Hospital from Jan 2016 to June 2016 were included into the study as "cases" after informed consent. Age-mat...

Vitamin D deficiency in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients

AIM The aim was to determine serum vitamin D levels in breast cancer patients and to assess its risk association with grade and stage of the tumor. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ninety breast cancer patients and equal number of age-matched healthy females were recruited into the study by consecutive sampling over a period of 6 months for this case control study. Serum 25(OH)2D levels and CT bone mine...
